Phil is a member of the firm and serves on its Board of Managers. In addition to handling a broad range of business matters, his practice concentrates in the areas of economic development, tax planning and advocacy, and mergers and acquisitions of closely held businesses. Phil advises clients regarding the structure, formation, and financing of business entities, and has worked extensively with Brownfield tax credits and other tax incentives for economic development.
Prior to attending law school, Phil developed and taught youth programs for the City of Syracuse, the Syracuse City School District, and a local youth service agency. He has served several boards and committees including serving as Board President of the former Metropolitan School for the Arts. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees as Secretary of the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) and on the Board of Directors of HOPE for Sudan Foundation, Inc., and is on the finance committee of both organizations.
