Sponsor a Teacher

Students cannot receive quality instruction without trained teachers. Currently, most teachers in Ariang School have not completed primary or secondary education. These teachers cannot read and write basic English. None of the teachers have received formal teacher training. As a result, Ariang students have difficulty passing national exams qualifying them for secondary education.

Part of our mission is not only to build the school for the children of Ariang village, but also to ensure that children receive quality education by training teachers.

Teacher using board in classroomWe recognize the importance of investing in these teachers’ education as a critical step for improving overall instruction in Ariang School. With the scholarship, these teachers will be able to get training and further their education in the Training Institute for Teachers.

You can sponsor a teacher by making a monthly or yearly contribution to the Teacher Scholarship Fund. We will provide you or your family with a picture of the teacher.

  • $35 buys instructional materials for a school year.
  • $150 per school year will buy the instructional materials that one teacher needs for his or her classroom (i.e. pens, pencils, markers, notepads, and teacher planning books).
  • $500 covers a monthly salary for one teacher
    OR
the tuition for a prospective teacher candidate in teacher training. This will allow one teacher from Ariang School, currently with an 8th grade level of education, to complete secondary school in Uganda and attend teacher training courses so s/he can return to the village as an educated, well-trained teacher and provide effective instructions for students.
